Pion - Pion Scattering Information
We show how the reaction e-e’+ n-n’y can be used to study the dipion system in states of even charge conjugation (and even angular momentum). In particular, its utility for experimentally investigating an I = 0, J = 0 resonance (e-meson) is discussed in detail. (Submitted to Phys. Rev. ) * Work supported by the U. S. متن کاملPion-pion Scattering above Resonances
We model large angle intermediate energy pion-pion scattering by the pQCD two-gluon (2g) exchange contribution and discuss the onset of the dominance of the Glauber-Gribov-Landshoff (GGL) component. The pQCD 2g exchange contribution becomes substantial already at |t| ∼ 1 GeV, but the pQCD exchange dominance is deferred to |t| ∼ 3 GeV because of competing multiple soft rescattering effects. Base...
متن کاملThe pion-pion scattering amplitude
We obtain reliable ππ scattering amplitudes consistent with experimental data, both at low and high energies, and fulfilling appropriate analyticity properties. We do this by first fitting experimental low energy (s ≤ 1.42GeV) phase shifts and inelasticities with expressions that incorporate analyticity and unitarity. In particular, for the S wave with isospin 0, we discuss in detail several se...
متن کاملPion Scattering Length from Two - Pion Wave Function ∗
We present a preliminary report on a calculation of scattering length for I = 2 S-wave two-pion system directly from the two-pion wave function. Results are compared with those calculated from the time dependence of twopion four-point functions. Calculations are made with an RG-improved action for gluons and improved Wilson action for quarks at a−1 = 1.207(12) GeV on 20 × 48 and 24 × 48 lattices.
متن کاملTwo-Pion Exchange in proton-proton Scattering
The cross section and the spin-correlation observable, CNN, measured in the region from 0 to 12 GeV/c Plab at 90 o provide an excellent testing ground for our theories of hadronic interactions. These data have been the focus of a number of experimental [1] and theoretical studies [2]. There is an apparent simplification of the amplitude in the region from 4 GeV/c to 8 GeV/c. At 90 ◦ the spin-co...
